Lorton is in Virginia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Lorton follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. I don't think I will be back to this course. It is pretty, but the staff experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I picked this place because they offer 18 holes at twilight hours. I'm a beginner, so I had no idea this course was so challenging. Obviously I'm a slower player as this was my 5th time on a course. When we got done with the front 9 we asked the kid at the shop if we could raincheck the back 9. He said only if you have an injury or the weather is an issue. Considering it's pretty expensive to play here and I already paid for 18 rounds, my boyfriend and I asked if we could just keep playing and what time they stop. He said well, your supposed to stop when it gets dark. Ok.. we will play on then. We got back to the clubhouse and put our things away and we did play til it was dark. Didn't finish another 9 holes obviously, but whoever was there to close up came to us when we were loading up in the cars and said, "Just so you know, the carts go to the return area not the front of the clubhouse." We apologized and said it was our first time there. Then he adds clearly irritated, "And also, we close at sundown, not 50 minutes after.". I said we asked if we coul

Hard to believe it's still full price! ($109). Good layout but course condition is terrible and has clearly suffered from weather events through the year. Lots of grass in bunkers, too.

The course was plugged and punched and played as such. Putts were unable to roll true and we got many unplanned bounces due to the dirt plus laying all over the place. Due to the course conditions that is why I said it was not worth the $90 price. See the pics. The other big obvious change was the removal of a ton of trees making the sight line more friendly based on our playing partner comments. The fringe was crunchy and not smooth too. No clean contact area near most greens making pitches and chips very interesting. With this said give this course about three weeks and it will be in amazing shape. I could tell this was a nice track and the course is more of a resort style course. The fairways are plenty wide and the greens were huge. The bunkers were well placed and in fantastic shape too. We saw the beverage cart multiple times. The clubhouse was speedy for food pick up. It was nice to have the range balls included but I personally hate hitting off the mats. The practice area was extremely busy but I had not issues finding somewhere to warm up. However I did question the pin distances based on the warm up spaces. Recommended improvement would be for the the starter to let y

Beautiful course, a real challenge that requires shot making. Saturday morning pace was good, 4:15. It's a "golfer's course" if you will--not here for pleasantries, just a good test of your game. Had fun, staff was excellent, when you're feeling good about your game, visit Laurel Hill and test yourself.

One of my favorite courses. Little pricey, I'd be prone to play here for more if it was $80 vs. the $99. Fee includes cart and a small bag if balls. Starters were great, pro shop and restaurant were OK. Course was in great shape, only. Only complaint was it was really soft but that was likely all the rain and not a maintenance issue. Couple of blind shots which I'm not a fan of but otherwise plenty of room and no houses smashed on top of it which I love. Lots of bunkers and the rough was definitely rough. GRASS driving range, also has mats, chipping green and nice putting green. Definitely recommend the course.
